    1. Fire and Flood and The Winner's Curse are two that I'm very curious about. I love the sound of both! And I've also heard a lot of good things about Alienated from other bloggers, so I'm eager to give it a try. I completely agree - 2014 looks set to be a promising year for books.

  8. Eep, Elizabeth Fama recommends Salt & Storm! That automatically makes it on my list then, since I absolutely loved Monstrous Beauty by her. Incidentally, I'm really anticipating Fama's Plus One too. But my #1 has got to be Dreams of Gods & Monsters, hands down. My level of want for that book is off the charts.

Also, what Leigh Bardugo said about Sarah Rees Brennan made me laugh but at the same time it's so true :P 2014 seems like a truly exciting year for the YA world! Awesome post, Sam!

Dreams of Gods and Monsters is probably in my top 5 - the previous two installments simply blew me away - and I completely agree about Sarah Rees Brennan. She does love to torture her characters!

Jodi's reason for choosing Cruel Beauty is hilarious though. :P
Leigh is right on the money about Sarah though :P Which is why I still haven't picked up Untold even though it's sitting on my desk. I am a coward.

What are your most anticipated books of 2014?
    I had meant to say..
    Independent Study By Joelle Carbonneau

I've looked forward to this book immediately after I read the first. It has the dystopia vibe + romance + totally like hunger games but the tests and trials the main characters go through has a ton to do about brains and whits instead of just plain fighting life or death.

Thanks for holding this giveaway! <3

  44. This post was sooo much fun Sam! :D I love how even authors get excited over other authors' books. You'd think only book lovers would do that. Haha! Its nice to see. There were so many books mentioned here that have so many raving reviews and me being the last one to the party...have not read them yet. Especially In the Shadow of Blackbirds. I've been meaning to read that one ever since your fab review. I remember how excited you were and how much you enjoyed it. I seriously need to get back on track reading wise (never thought I'd say that....I'm always reading!)

As for the most anticipated: Oh boy.....I could come up with a list! lol ;p But from the top of my head....Secret by Brigid Kemmerer has to be at the top. You know how much I ADORE her Elemental series. I haven't gotten around to the Lunar Chronicles series yet but its so highly spoken about that those are also on my list even if they are not 2014 releases. City of Heavenly Fire has to be on my list. Its Cassie Clare...enough said. Cruel Beauty seems to be getting a lot of praise as well, so I'm gonna have to check that one out to (even if Snow White is my bias fairytale. lol ;p)

And the only other one I can think of is Tempting the Bodyguard by J. Lynn. I really enjoyed her first two books in the series and I have been dying to get my hands on this one. Hopefully, its worth the wait!

Thanks so much for the giveaway! And hope your 2014 is filled with wonderful surprises and wonderful not-surprises...and it turns out to be one hell of a year! :D

I'm quite nervous about it though, as I know a few characters won't be making it to the end. And I haven't yet started that J. Lynn series, but I know I'll get around to it eventually. I hope Tempting the Bodyguard lives up to your expectations!

I hope you have an amazing 2014 too! With lots of good books to keep you company. :)
