Happy Sunday, everyone! Since my last showcase post, I shared reviews of Gravity by Melissa West, Eternally Yours by Cate Tiernan, Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, Splintered by A.G. Howard, Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and mini-reviews of Broken by A.E. Rought and Flawed by Kate Avelynn. Phew! If you missed any of those and would like to catch up, simply follow the links. I also announced the latest winners of a couple of giveaways. Now onto the new books!...

Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff
Black Spring by Alison Croggon
I am incredibly nervous about Requiem - Lauren Oliver has absolutely no mercy when it comes to torturing her characters (and her readers!). If it doesn't wrap up the trilogy the way I want it to, I will be throwing a tantrum (mark my words). Black Spring, unfortunately, I was forced to abandon after a few pages. The author is clearly a talented writer, and I've heard fantastic things about her Pellinor series, but this latest book from her is not interesting me in the slightest. I read Through the Ever Night as soon as I received it, and I'm so happy to say that it lived up to my high expectations. Expect a very positive review in January!
That's all for now, and most likely my last showcase post until the new year. Thanks go to Edelweiss, Harper Collins, Hodder & Stoughton, Simon & Schuster UK and Walker Books UK for the review copies.

Oh another brilliant haul Sam, I have so much catching up to do! I have both Pandemonium and Under the Never Sky but I haven't read them yet! But at least this prevented me from going on a crazy book request! I can't wait to see what you think of Paper Valentine, it's one of my highly anticipated reads of next year. The Madman's Daughter also sounds fabulous too! Hope you enjoy all your reads! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat haul, Sam! Requiem has such a beautiful cover, I love it <3 (Even though I haven't read this series) Hope you enjoy it and it lives up to your expectations!
ReplyDeleteGreat week Sam. Totally jealous of Through the Ever Night, I can not wait for it. I'm thinking of re-reading the first book again too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm really nervous about reading Requiem. I don't have a clue what to expect or what way I even want things to go. I'm looking forward to it though. I love this cover :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an epic load of books! I hadn't seen that cover of Requiem, but it's so freaking beautiful. Hope you enjoy all of these books, Sam! :D
ReplyDeleteYay, Through the Evernight lived up to my expectations too! Aww, it's a shame about Black Spring, I had the same issue with Hidden Among Us.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! <3
Brilliant haul, Sam! As ever, you got some brilliant books! I haven't read the Ever Night series but I have heard some brilliant reviews for it! Requiem, I loved Delirium but I have heard mixed reviews for Pandemonium! But I hope it ends really well for you! I love the sound of Paper Valentine, I see your currently reading it! How is it going for you? Enjoy all your books!

ReplyDeleteI love the covers of Paper Valentine and Requiem that you're showcasing!! So happy to learn that you enjoyed Through The Ever Night. I haven't read the first book although it has been sitting on my shelf for almost a year. Definitely looking forward to reading your upcoming reviews!
ReplyDeleteTerrific haul as always, Sam! :) The Madman's Daughter I featured in a WoW post and it sounds incredible; not to mention the fabulous cover! Historical setting, creepy qrotesque monsters, and a dash of romance? Yes please. ;) Paper Valentine sounds great too! The UK cover is interesting, although I can't decide if I like it beter than the US cover. Is a Battle of the Covers post calling my name? ;) Hah, anyhow, enjoy your goodies Sam!
ReplyDeleteTons of goodies this week! :) I snagged The Madman's Daughter too, am really excited to start that one! Really interested in seeing what you think of Paper Valentine, it sounds like it has a lot of potential. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteMy Showcase Sunday!
I absolutely love the british cover of requiem, the beautiful blue sea, the shadow of a girl who may jump into the ocean, the blue cracked ground pattern- completely superb design! I hope you enjoy Requiem Sam! (Can't wait for march!) and all you other new books!
ReplyDeleteThe Madman's Daughter and Paper Valentine both look really good! Great picks!
ReplyDeleteHere's my SS!
I am insanely excited about The Madman's Daughter, I just have a great feeling about that book. And Paper Valentine... just seeing it up there makes me insanely happy. BRenna published two books so far and I loved them both so there's a strong chance I'll love that one as well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books, Sam!
Squee I got The Madman's Daugther this week too! I can't wait to see what we both think about it. And I haven't read the Delirium trilogy at all yet, but I hope it lives up to your expectations! Happy reading, Sam!

ReplyDeleteI have the first two books of the Lauren Oliver series but I refuse to read them til the last one comes out. I'm anxious to see what you make of the last one and if it doesn't turn out, I'm giving mine away without reading it. I don't want to be tortured. Through the Ever Night!! I'm so green with envy but so thrilled to find out it lived up to expectations. Too bad about Black Spring. The cover is gorgeous! Enjoy your reads. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you DNFed Black Spring, it looked so good! I can't wait for Paper Valentine though. I hope it is as good as it looks!

Awesome book week my friend!
ReplyDeleteWAH your cover of Requiem is SO MUCH PRETTIER than the US! When you read, I want to discuss with you. You got so many good books this week, enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, so many amazing books! I need to read the books before Through the Ever Night, I keep seeing so many people raving about it. And I'm so jealous about Requiem, I love Lauren Oliver :) But I agree, if the trilogy doesn't end the way I would life I will be very annoyed! Happy reading, Sam :)
