On a side note, who will be watching the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games today? It's at 21:00, UK time, with a focus on 50 years worth of British music. According to Wikipedia, some of the artists will include Muse, Ed Sheeran and The Who. There are also, believe it or not, reports of One Direction performing... Frankly, I think it's hard to top Mary Poppins, Voldemort and Mr Bean, but we'll see what happens. ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'll be watching the ceremony, I'll probably catch a bit of it. I haven't watched any of the sports that have been on, except the 200m was it? That was only because my brother wanted to watch Usain Bolt. So yeah, lol.
Nice haul! I just noticed that the girl on the cover of Crewel is the same as the girl on the cover of Speechless!

I am so very curious about Breathe, although I know that Flann started it and wasn't very thrilled by it. Crewel is a book I've heard so much about, all of it good, and I can't wait to read your thoughts. Foretold was such a great conclusion to the series, wasn't it? Who knows what Oliver will do next.

Some awesome books again Sam! I requested Crewel too, so here's hoping Macmillan will approve me! Nerve also sounds fantastic too! I always tell myself that this will be the last time I will be requesting from NetGalley, but then they bust out with some amazing books that I just can't help myself but request again! I can't wait to see the closing ceremony tonight either, I can't believe it's coming to an end either *sobs* what are we going to do Sam? Well it certainly give us more time to tackle our tbr piles, mine has been even more out of control since the olympics started! I also heard that George Michael may make an appearance too! ReplyDeleteI LOVED Carnival of Souls. There were a couple of points that were a little cringy and made me not like the book, but overall it was brilliant! So I really hope you enjoy that.
I've seen the Lost Prince everywhere. I haven't read the Iron Fey series so I'm not really sure whether I'll request it since I feel like I'd be better of reading the series first.
Oooooh. Foretold. I hope you enjoy that one. I've only read the first book of the Demon Trappers series, but I loved it!

Awesome books, Sam! You got Nerve *-* This book sounds pretty good! Actually, is there any book that you got that DOESN'T sound good? :D I hope you enjoy them all! Also, I don't know if I'll be watching the Closing Ceremony, but I'm crazy to know what they'll show about Brazil and Rio 2016. It should be interesting! And I agree, it's kind of hard for this cerimony to top the Opening one. I mean, come on. Voldemort, Mr. Bean, Paul McCartney... it was a killer one :D

Wow you got a lot of books. Netgalley is wonderful, especially compared to Edelweiss. I don't know what to make of them. They hardly ever approve me for anything and I've tested them, I've requested the same book at both places and got approved with NG and then denied with Edelweiss. I got Demons of the Sun too, interested to get stuck in that one. I can't wait to see what you think of Carnival of Souls. Great haul Sam. :)

And I requested The Shadow Society and Crewel on Netgalley so keeping my fingers crossed, but I've been very unlucky on Netgalley lately so not holding out much hope :( I really like the sound of Demons of the Sun, I haven't heard of this one before.
ReplyDeleteAnd I seen some of the closing ceremony. It's amazing how they do it all. The choreographing is amazing. Did Voldemort make an appearance? I missed that. I loved how they revived Freddie Mercury for a few minutes.
