Cover Reveal: Vengeance Bound by Justina Ireland

Vengeance Bound by Justina Ireland is being published by Simon & Schuster. The expected release date is April 02, 2013. I am pleased to take part in the cover reveal today hosted by AToMR Tours.

What's it about?
The Goddess Test meets Dexter in an edgy, compelling debut about one teen’s quest for revenge…no matter how far it takes her.

Cory Graff is not alone in her head. Bound to a deal of desperation made when she was a child, Cory’s mind houses the Furies—the hawk and the serpent—lingering always, waiting for her to satisfy their bloodlust. After escaping the asylum where she was trapped for years, Cory knows how to keep the Furies quiet. By day, she lives a normal life, but by night, she tracks down targets the Furies send her way. And she brings down Justice upon them.

Cory’s perfected her system of survival, but when she meets a mysterious boy named Niko at her new school, she can’t figure out how she feels about him. For the first time, the Furies are quiet in her head around a guy. But does this mean that Cory’s finally found someone who she can trust, or are there greater factors at work?

As Cory’s mind becomes a battlefield, with the Furies fighting for control, Cory will have to put everything on the line to hold on to what she’s worked so hard to build.

Despite my long-standing fear of snakes, I really like this cover. What do you think? Feel free to leave me your thoughts on the cover/the book below.

  1. I also have a HUGE snake fear. They are super creepy and oog me out! Yucky! But it looks cool and they are white so they kind of blend in.

That sounds awesome! I love The Goddess Test and Dexter and books about revenge. I love the Furies mythology so it should be cool.

  3. Oh, Sam, the snakes CREEP ME OUT too! I think it's pretty cool that they are in white, but still... *shudder* And their bodies in the cover! Does the cover artist have to make the body... that long? In overall, I really like the cover though! The model really stands out in the center, and she looks like such a tough girl! x)

I don't watch Dexter, but I'm very excited for this book! I hope the story won't let us down later! <3 Thanks for sharing, hun! :)

  4. Stunning cover!! The white background really creates a huge contrast with the girl in the middle. The snakes kinda creep me out too!

  5. I like the cover but I feel like they could have blended(?) in the model better. When I read The Goddess Test meets Dexter I got excited but summaries mentioning mysterious boys tend to turn me off so... we'll see when it's out :D

Thanks for the heads up, Sam XD

  10. I can't say I'm a snake fan, either. :P But I do like this cover. It's not amazing when you first glance at it, but the way the writing colour and the character stand out amongst the white background is so great!

But the background actually takes over from the writing itself, it's so pretty [the background].<3 Thanks for sharing!(:

  12. Um. YES PLEASE! This books sound amazing and I'm all for anything that features even the slightest bit of Greek mythology so I now can't wait for this book. Thanks a lot Sam, now I have one more book that doesn't come out for MONTHS to obsessive over ;-) Love the all white set with the huge red letters, super eye-catching!

  17. Woooow, this sounds good! I haven't heard of this one before, but I'll definitely be adding it to my TBR-Shelf! It kind of sounds like what I wanted Dark Star to be...an edgy, kick-ass heroine who actually rids the world of evil. I can't wait for its release, so thanks for sharing, Sam! :)

  18. Ooh, I like the sound of this book. The MC sounds like a kick-ass one. Gotta add this on my tbr. As for the cover, I love the white background with pillars and statues of animals and snake. But the girl's pose seem a bit awkward. Haha! Thanks for sharing this, Sam. :)

  19. Hmm a book about revenge...well the cover is fitting. I am sure it will cover some dark themes, not sure how I feel about this one!

  20. That's, um...a lot of snakes. It's creepy. But I do like the cover, and the synopsis sounds really interesting. I just added this. Thanks for sharing! :)

  21. I kind of love that cover design--and the choice to make everything so clean and white so that the girl and the title treatment really pop. This one sounds like it could be a lot of fun. :) Thanks for hosting this!

  23. Snakes... *shudders* I absolutely detest them but they work pretty well here - they add to the overall kick-ass feel! The girl looks strong-willed and determined and totally bad-ass! It seems like a really great book, if the synopsis is anything to go by!

Will be looking out for this one! Thanks for sharing, Sam <3

  25. I've never heard of this book before, but the blurb sounds absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing, lest I wouldn't have discovered this book. :) And the cover is spelled in seven letters- PERFECT. The background is fresh and ingenious, the cover model looks sharp, confident and sophisticated. The vivid red font is quite eye catching as well!

  26. Ohh, I'm not a fan of snakes either, and that's an understatement! It's a good thing they look so white and clean or I would have run the other way already. I love the cover, but definitely getting the Kindle version of this, hah.

  27. Oh wow, this sounds so creepy and unique! Love the cover. Thanks for sharing, Sam!

  28. I think snakes are gorgeous so they don't bother me and while I do like the red on white, I find the title a bit difficult to read but it's deffo eye-catching!

  29. The cover looks very much like the first line of the blurb - sort of bloody, criminal thriller meets mythology! Sounds unlike anything I've read and worth waiting on.

  30. I hate snakes too! But, I have to say I love this cover, it is very striking indeed. Plus it sounds awesome, adding it now lol! Thanks for sharing. :)

  31. My feet are curled under me in my chair thanks to that cover. Eeeeek! However... The Goddess Test meets Dexter (one of my favorite shows)? Well, I can't 'not' read it! Guess I'll have to put a different book cover over the s-n-a-k-e-s (yeah, I spell that word - I never say it)! Thank you for the reveal, Sam! <3

  32. I didn't even realise that this cover had snakes on the front cover until you mentioned it, but I still like it. Thanks for sharing another great book with us! :)

  33. I forgot about your fear of snakes, Sam, lol! See I can laugh because, while I don't really care for them, they don't terrify me. The same cannot be said for spiders!!! Eeeek!! They're like some horrible alien invention and can run far too quickly. But enough about phobias! This story sounds really good and the cover is quite different in a good way. Thanks for shairing because I hadn't heard of this one before. :)

  34. OOOOOOOOOOH BRODIE LIKE. The Goddess Test meets Dexter? Hell yes. I've never seen Dexter, but I know what it's about... couple that with greek mythology and cha-ching! The cover looks awesome! Love that it's something NEW and a bit different. Creepy snakes... I approve :D
