Title: The Shadow Girl
Author: Jennifer Archer
Publisher: Harper Teen
Released: April 09, 2013
Sometimes I forget for an hour or two that she’s with me. Sometimes I convince myself that she was only a dream. Or that I’m crazy. But then, for no reason I can name, I’m instantly aware of her company, or I hear her whisper in my head. And that’s when I remind myself that she’s been there all along, as constant as my heartbeat.
For as long as Lily Winston can remember, she has never been alone. Iris, a shadowy figure who mimics Lily’s movements and whispers secrets in her ear, is with her always—but invisible to the rest of the world. Lily has never told anyone about this shadow girl, and has come to accept Iris’ presence as a comforting constant in her otherwise isolated life.
But everything changes on the morning of Lily’s seventeenth birthday. Her father is killed in a terrible accident. Her mother sinks into a deep depression. And suddenly, Iris begins twisting herself more and more into Lily’s everyday life, possessing her thoughts and urging her to put together the pieces of a puzzle her father left behind. The only person Lily can confide in is Ty Collier, a mysterious boy who came to their small town in search of Lily’s father, and who seems to be harboring his own deep secrets.
As Lily searches for answers, she realizes that she and Iris are more intimately linked than she had ever imagined. Together, Lily and Ty must untangle a web of deception to discover the truth about the shadow girl’s past—and Lily’s own identity.
Doesn't this look amazing? Iris sounds quite creepy and I'm really curious about why she even exists. I can't wait to find out what the story is here. Though it looks like I'm in for quite a long wait... this isn't out until 2013, unfortunately.
Do you like the sound of it? If you are waiting on a book yourself, leave me a link to your post and I will visit as soon as I can. :)

ReplyDeleteYep, this sounds good. A bit like What's Left Of Me with the two souls one body thing. I guess the idea gets more popular, but you never know what the author might do with it, so I think it's good to look forward to this. The cover is nice too, I love this kinda of off reflection.

ReplyDeleteUM. SO. CREEPY. And then, at the same time, I am so excited and eager to read more! This one sounds fabulous -- the perfect scary thriller read. How crazy is it that we already have covers and summaries for books coming out April 2013? I can't believe it's that time of year already! Don't worry, it'll be next year so soon and then we can have all these amazing books to read all day! x) *happy sigh*
Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday! <3

It DOES look amazing, Sam! (And maybe a bit creepy, but I've learned that creepy can be very synonymous to amazing in my book so it kind of works in a roundabout way LOL! Which means again: AMAZING!) I don't think I've read a cool thriller book in a while, so I'm really intrigued about this one! Although the wait until April is going to feel SO LONG -- that's almost a year away! :')
ReplyDeleteAnother amazing pick for your WOW this week, Sam! I don't know how you do it, but you ALWAYS manage to add something new to my TBR pile x) <#
The cover is stunning! The book sounds great! Can't wait to read the book!
