Title: Hysteria
Author: Megan Miranda
Publisher: Walker Children's Books
Released: Feb 05, 2013
Pre-Order: The Book Depository
Mallory's life is falling apart. Her boyfriend was stabbed. He bled to death in her kitchen. Mallory was the one who stabbed him. But she can't remember what happened that night. She only remembers the fear . . .
When Mallory's parents send her away to a boarding school, she thinks she can escape the gossip and the threats. But someone, or something, has followed her. There's the hand that touches her shoulder when she's drifting off to sleep. A voice whispering her name. And everyone knows what happened. So when a pupil is found dead, Mallory's name is on their lips. Her past can be forgotten but it's never gone. Can Mallory live with that?
Some of you may be familiar with Megan Miranda already. Her debut book, Fracture, was released earlier this year. Although I have never read Fracture - and doubt I will be reading it any time soon - I am very eager to get my hands on Hysteria. This book has been described as a YA psychological thriller. Throw in a murder or two, a boarding school and a super-cool cover, and I am pretty much sold.
What about you? Do you like the sound of this, too? If you have done your own WoW post, you are welcome to leave a link and I will visit your post later today. :)

That cover is so creepy. But this does sound interesting, in a very horrorific kind of way.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Wednesday where I am, yet :P
I haven't read Fracture, but this looks really cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to put my own one up now. :)
Oh, wow! Want this now! I really enjoyed Fracture and I absolutely love the sound of this one. It's sad, yet so intriguing! Off to add it to my TBR. Thank you, Sam! <3
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sophie. That is one creepy cover. But I sort of like it. Sounds like a good series though.

This looks amazing!! I've never heard of this author. Definitely love a good murder mystery. Thanks for the rec! Off to add it on Goodreads now.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this book yet. It sounds like my kind of book too Sam! I always love Murder mysteries and stories set at boarding schools (especially Hogwarts!)
ReplyDeleteThat cover really scares me. I read Fracture a while ago and I loved it. This sounds like an amazing book.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time seeing this but I'm definitely convinced that I need to get my hands on a copy of it! It sort of sounds like a mash-up of Mara Dyer and Night School, both of which I loved so I'm ridiculously curious about this one! Amazing pick and thanks so much for sharing it :)
ReplyDeleteKim @ The Paper Planes
I love mysteries especially involving characters that can't remember what happened. Also love boarding school stories. I've been wanting to read Fracture but haven't yet.
ReplyDeleteMy WOW
I read Fracture and ended up being really disappointed !
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of it though. Hopefully, it'll be great ! :)
Great pick, Sam. :)
This sounds thrilling! I haven't read Fracture yet but I'm planning to get my hands on that book. I heard that it's a bit like If I Stay. Oh, the creepy cover and the amazing premise convince me to take a look again when this book is published. Awesome pick, Sam! <3
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a creepy but awesome mystery. I really like the cover. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I loved Fracture! This is the first I have heard of this & it sounds awesome! I will definitely be adding it to my huge TBR pile! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, thrillers are awesome! I haven't read a good one in a while so maybe this will be it for me! Haha.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the heads up, Sam :D
This one is new to me, so I'm adding it to my GR right away. It sounds fantastic! I like a creepy book, so thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFab pick Sam! I've got Fracture but never gotten around to reading it :( But this book had me hooked from the first line, I haven't had a great deal of lucky with books that deal with memory loss, but this sounds truly fascinating! And I love the cover too! I will definitely be checking this one out when it's released! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I am adding this to my list. I also bought Fracture and it's sitting on my shelves. Hysteria sounds a lot better :)

This sounds amazing! I did read Fracture and it wasn't my cup of tea, but the story held great promise. Fracture was her debut so I'm hoping this one is better. Great pick Sam! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Fracture and I doubt I'd be reading it soon too but this sounds very intriguing and thrilling! Great pick Sam! I'll have to add this on my pile. :D

ReplyDeleteMy WOW and international giveaway
I saw mixed reviews for Fracture so I probably won't be reading it either but Hysteria sounds like it'll be good. I like stories involving boarding school too :)
ReplyDeleteSounds incredible. And wow, she's the same author as Fracture! I've heard great things about this last one, so I expect no less awesomeness from this one. Although it's not the genre I usually seek while reading young adult, I'll certainly be waiting to hear people's thoughts about it. Great pick, thanks for bringing it to my attention! :D
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good. I like books involving boarding schools. That's usually enough to woo me. Great pick, thanks for sharing :)

Ohhhh, I had no idea this was written by the same author as the one who wrote Fracture! I actually really liked that book despite the fact that Delany and I would never get along LOL x) I definitely need to read this one, especially since the last psychological thriller I read was Mara Dyer (which I loved), so I think I'm going to love this one too! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing pick for your WOW this week, Sam! I love how you always choose books I've never heard of before but definitely would love to read! :) <3
I haven't come across that one yet, but it sounds really interesting! I understand why you're eagerly waiting for this! Also, Fracture is on my tbr, but I haven't read it yet, and it's not like it'd happen anytime soon. ~.~ But anyway, this goes to my tbr now as well. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW this week
This sounds so creepy but I have to read it! And thanks for bringing to my attention, I've heard a lot about Fracture but nothing about Hysteria.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes, yes, yes, me, me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme, GIMME!! I really enjoyed Fracture, so before I even read the synopsis for Hysteria, I knew I WANTED IT. And then I read the synopsis and..... LOVE. What is it about a boarding school and murder that gets me all turned on? That sounds kind of disturbing, I should rephrase....
ReplyDeleteAnyway, super excited for this!
Oh I had no idea she had another book coming! It sounds good though, and I absolutely love that weird cover.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Fracture, so I'd definitely be interested in having a look at this one. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteOK this got me at BOARDING SCHOOL and also murder and it sounds really creepy. I want to read it now too!
ReplyDeleteHi! I am a new follower from Waiting on Wednesday. I would love a follow back!

Yay! Awesome pick, Sam :D Cannot wait for this book, either. <3 I did enjoy Fracture a lot. :) But when I think about it, I kind of wonder how I could enjoy a love triangle book.. *wonders.* Hih. But the plot was awesome. :)
