Waiting on Wednesday (#16)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine which spotlights future releases that we may be eagerly anticipating. Here is what I am looking forward to this week:

Title: Hysteria
Author: Megan Miranda
Publisher: Walker Children's Books
Released: Feb 05, 2013
Pre-Order: The Book Depository
Mallory's life is falling apart. Her boyfriend was stabbed. He bled to death in her kitchen. Mallory was the one who stabbed him. But she can't remember what happened that night. She only remembers the fear . . .

When Mallory's parents send her away to a boarding school, she thinks she can escape the gossip and the threats. But someone, or something, has followed her. There's the hand that touches her shoulder when she's drifting off to sleep. A voice whispering her name. And everyone knows what happened. So when a pupil is found dead, Mallory's name is on their lips. Her past can be forgotten but it's never gone. Can Mallory live with that?

Some of you may be familiar with Megan Miranda already. Her debut book, Fracture, was released earlier this year. Although I have never read Fracture - and doubt I will be reading it any time soon - I am very eager to get my hands on Hysteria. This book has been described as a YA psychological thriller. Throw in a murder or two, a boarding school and a super-cool cover, and I am pretty much sold.

What about you? Do you like the sound of this, too? If you have done your own WoW post, you are welcome to leave a link and I will visit your post later today. :)

  1. That cover is so creepy. But this does sound interesting, in a very horrorific kind of way.

  9. This is my first time seeing this but I'm definitely convinced that I need to get my hands on a copy of it! It sort of sounds like a mash-up of Mara Dyer and Night School, both of which I loved so I'm ridiculously curious about this one! Amazing pick and thanks so much for sharing it :)

  19. Fab pick Sam! I've got Fracture but never gotten around to reading it :( But this book had me hooked from the first line, I haven't had a great deal of lucky with books that deal with memory loss, but this sounds truly fascinating! And I love the cover too! I will definitely be checking this one out when it's released! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! :)

  24. I saw mixed reviews for Fracture so I probably won't be reading it either but Hysteria sounds like it'll be good. I like stories involving boarding school too :)

  25. Sounds incredible. And wow, she's the same author as Fracture! I've heard great things about this last one, so I expect no less awesomeness from this one. Although it's not the genre I usually seek while reading young adult, I'll certainly be waiting to hear people's thoughts about it. Great pick, thanks for bringing it to my attention! :D

  27. Ohhhh, I had no idea this was written by the same author as the one who wrote Fracture! I actually really liked that book despite the fact that Delany and I would never get along LOL x) I definitely need to read this one, especially since the last psychological thriller I read was Mara Dyer (which I loved), so I think I'm going to love this one too! :)

Amazing pick for your WOW this week, Sam! I love how you always choose books I've never heard of before but definitely would love to read! :) <3

  30. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, me, me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme, GIMME!! I really enjoyed Fracture, so before I even read the synopsis for Hysteria, I knew I WANTED IT. And then I read the synopsis and..... LOVE. What is it about a boarding school and murder that gets me all turned on? That sounds kind of disturbing, I should rephrase....

    Anyway, super excited for this!

  35. Yay! Awesome pick, Sam :D Cannot wait for this book, either. <3 I did enjoy Fracture a lot. :) But when I think about it, I kind of wonder how I could enjoy a love triangle book.. *wonders.* Hih. But the plot was awesome. :)
