Waiting on Wednesday (#14)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine which spotlights future releases that we may be eagerly anticipating. It's been a few weeks since I last participated in this meme, but I have a great book to share this week. Here is what I am waiting on:

Title: The Friday Society
Author: Adrienne Kress
Publisher: Dial, Penguin
Release Date: Dec 06, 2012
Add On: Goodreads
Be your own hero . . .

An action-packed tale of gowns, guys, guns--and the heroines who use them all. Set in Edwardian London,
The Friday Society follows the stories of three very intelligent and talented young women, all of whom are assistants to powerful men: Cora, lab assistant; Michiko, Japanese fight assistant; and Nellie, magician's assistant. The three young women's lives become inexorably intertwined after a chance meeting at a ball that ends with the discovery of a murdered mystery man.

It's up to these three, in their own charming but bold way, to solve the murder--and the crimes they believe may be connected to it--without calling
too much attention to themselves.

Told with Adrienne Kress's sharp wit and a great deal of irreverence, this Steampunk whodunit introduces three unforgettable and very ladylike--well, relatively ladylike--heroines poised for more dangerous adventures.

I am always on the hunt for new books to obsess over and The Friday Society is among those which I am dying to read. Doesn't this book sound awesome? A bit of steampunk with great sounding characters and a good old murder mystery... I can't wait. Plus I adore that cover. This isn't out until December though which is beyond frustrating. I just hope the wait is worth it! Do you like the sound of this book too?

If you are taking part in this meme, feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments and I will visit when I can. :)

  22. It looks so amazing! Pretty refreshing. I just hope it's not one of those cases when we get seduced by a pretty cover and an interesting description, only to discover that it really didn't work at all. Somehow I doubt it, though.

It's like the triple G in awesomeness! x) I have no idea where you find these amazing books, but you always manage to get me excited for books that haven't been getting as much hype yet -- and I LOVE that about you! I've been kind of deprived of my steampunk for the past few months, so it's really cool to have another steampunk book to pine after now! :)

Amazing pick for your WOW this week, Sam! I'm in love with that cover too! x) <3
