Steamline Blog Tour: Character Interview

Welcome to the official blog tour of Streamline by Jennifer Lane. I have a special character interview with Leo to share with you all today. Stick around for a giveaway at the end!

Title: Streamline
Author: Jennifer Lane
Publisher: Omnific Publishing
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
Seems like Leo Scott has it all: looks, brains, and athletic talent. He’s captain of his high school swim team with a bright future in college and beyond. But Leo has secrets. His mother’s crippling car accident has devastated his family and left Leo to deal with his father’s abuse, battered and alone.

Leo’s girlfriend Audrey Rose is poised for her own share of success. As one of Florida’s top high school swimmers, Audrey dreams of college swimming stardom. But there’s an obstacle to her glorious rise to the top. Her number-one supporter--her father--is in prison for murder.

Part murder mystery, part tale of young love in a military family, this gripping story takes readers on a journey from Pensacola to Annapolis. Leo and Audrey must band together to rise above the adversity they encounter and find their true selves in the process. When everything’s on the line . . .

INTERVIEW WITH LEO

Being the high school swim team’s captain is quite an honor. What do you enjoy most about it or swimming in general?

It’s a great honor to lead men. My dad loves bossing people around all day, but I’m not like that as a captain. I try to be a conduit between the guys and Coach, and treat my teammates with respect. Swimming is the best sport there is.

You have quite a lot at home to deal with in addition to the pressure of team captain and school. How do you manage, cope, and not lose yourself?

I’m horrible at coping. I’m a freaking mess. If it wasn’t for my father keeping me in line, I’d probably be failing out of school.

When you first met Audrey Rose, what was your first impression of her?

She was annoying—just like all the girls on the team were when I was ten. I do have to admit she looked pretty cute when she got her braces off a few years later, but I was too busy with school and swimming to notice her then. When I caught her skinny dipping when we were fifteen…*gulps*

What do you admire most about Audrey Rose?

She has the whole package. First of all, she’s beautiful. She’s smart. She’s a great swimmer. Audrey does all of this when her parents aren’t even around. God, she’s strong.

What bugs you the most about her? (we won’t tell)

You promise you won’t tell, ma’am? I wish Audrey wouldn’t drink alcohol, especially since her father’s an alcoholic. I must sound like a hypocritical jerk, but I had to say it. I worry about her.

What are you the most afraid of?

*thinks for a while* I’m afraid my mother and brother won’t find happiness again. Mom and Jason have had hard lives, and they deserve better.

What is something about you readers might be surprised to know?

I’m not serious all the time. Audrey and Jason can bring out my goofy side. Benito’s good at that too.

  26. Honestly, Sam, focusing on anything that follows not one, but TWO pics of Wentworth Miller is downright impossible. But I managed because I'm strong-willed and all that.

I love that this is from male POV, there aren't nearly enough books like that. And I agree with Hilda, the cover is pretty amazing. I'm definitely interested.
