IMM is a weekly meme started by The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. It's been a quiet week for me in terms of books, but I received some exciting looking ones nonetheless. Here are the books that came my way this week:
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - I wasn't sure about this book at first but the sheer number of positive reviews have convinced me it is worth a read. If you are interested in reading this, it is available for immediate download on NetGalley.
Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer - This was a freebie on Amazon (and probably still is). So many people have had nothing but good things to say about Brigid Kemmerer's Storm, so I just had to grab this. Maybe I will find out what all the fuss is about.
Knee Deep by Jolene Perry - I read Jolene Perry's Night Sky several weeks ago and loved it. Hopefully this will be just as great! If you are interested in reading an excerpt, click here. It's a steamy one!
Timepiece by Myra McEntire - The first book, Hourglass, failed to blow me away but I did still enjoy it. I am hoping Timepiece is slightly better! Plus, I do love the cover.
I also received The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron from Scholastic, but it hasn't got a cover yet. It sounds pretty good. Here is a snippet I found on the author's website:
“In the very back of the room, where the sunlight could not penetrate, a wide staircase rose into darkness, and beside the stairs was a door, light leaking from its edges. I opened this, and found a windowless corridor, gaslit and stifling. Door after door slipped past me, set in walls the hue of half-ripened cherries, a sense of suffocation growing as I moved deeper and deeper into the house. A closed door ended the hall, and behind it was another room, also windowless, a single chandelier throwing both illumination and shadow on nothing but clocks.”
So that's all for this week. Thanks as usual to the publishers and NetGalley for the review copies. Have you read any of these already or are you planning to? Leave me your thoughts and feel free to include any IMM links and I will visit your posts when I can. :)
